Is this all? Är detta allt?

Life on Earth

If this life on earth is all; “Let’s eat and drink, for tomorrow we’ll die”. In 1 Corinthians (chapter 15) one can see that the reason that many Christians live in sin or in a similar way to the rest of the world are that they do not have a glance at heaven, as Collossians (chapter 3) emphasizes that we should have.

Life here on earth becomes more real, but the Bible suggests that it’s really like a parentheses or a vapour. When earthly life feels so real, it’s important to put the helmet of salvation on your head, with the eternal hope of salvation. We are on our way to heaven and have already passed from death to life.

I read today (1 Cor 15) that the flesh of different bodies have a different shine and that the glory of our coming heavenly body will be so overwhelmingly beautiful. My heart was then filled with gratitude and expectation, on the heavenly eternal hope. I understood the difference between the Christians who live in sin and those who by grace try to live righteously. The former do not look at the reward, they do not forget what has been and continues. They forget that the old is past away and do not see that something new has come. They do not turn their heart and mind into what is above. They let the flesh be free and the desires of the soul, after the good of this life.

I do not say we can not enjoy here and now, we can, because everything belongs to us (in Corinthians 3). But, not at the expense of our life with God and the heavenly hope. So my friend, take a glance and look at Jesus. Keep Him holy in your heart. Share your innermost heart with Him and let Him share His heart with you. Show Him that He can entrust you with treasures and trust you. Take Him in your hand, live pure and walk with your head high, already here and now and then into the heavens of God, when that day comes.

Livet på jorden

Om detta livet på jorden är allt; ”låt oss äta och dricka, för imorgon dör vi”. I 1 Korintiebrevet (kapitel 15) kan man skönja, att anledningen till att många kristna lever i synd, eller på ett likadant sätt som andra i världen, är att de inte har blicken riktad mot himlen, som Kolloserbrevet (kapitel 3) betonar att vi ska ha.

Livet här på jorden blir då mer verkligt, men Bibeln antyder att det egentligen är som en parentes eller en vindfläkt. När det jordiska livet känns verkligare, är det viktigt att ta på sig frälsningens hjälm på huvudet, med det eviga hoppet om frälsning. Vi är nämligen på väg till himlen och har redan övergått från döden till livet.

Jag läste idag  (1  Kor 15) om att köttet av olika kroppar har olika glans och att vår kommande himmelska kropps härlighet, kommer vara så överväldigande härlig. Mitt hjärta fylldes då av tacksamhet och förväntan, på det himmelska hoppet. Jag förstod skillnaden på de kristna som lever i synd och de som av nåden försöker leva rättfärdigt. De förra har inte sin blick riktad på lönen, de glömmer inte det som varit och löper framåt.  De glömmer att det gamla är förgånget och ser inte att nåt nytt har kommit. De vänder inte sitt hjärta och sinne, till det som är där ovan. De låter köttet härja fritt och själens begär, efter detta livets goda.

Jag säger inte att vi inte kan njuta här och nu, det kan vi, för allt tillhör oss (I Kor 3). Men, inte på bekostnad av vårt liv med Gud och det himmelska hoppet. Så min vän, lyft blicken och se på Jesus. Håll Honom helig i ditt hjärta. Dela ditt innersta med Honom och låt Honom dela sitt hjärta med dig. Visa Honom att Han kan anförtro dig skatter, att Han kan lita på dig. Ta Honom i handen, lev rent och vandra med huvudet högt, redan här och nu och sedan in i själva Guds himmel, när den dagen kommer.
